Read the manual to find out the default password. Hit the reset button on the router. Password is reset to default. Voila! You're in.

usually you just leave the password field blank. if not, hard reset the router. log into the router using admin and leave the pw field blank.

I would put a PW there. What good is a router that anyone can reconfigure without your permission?

For thorough testing, send it over to me, I'll test it out for a year, and making quarterly journals regarding experiences, and password recovery. It can extend to upto 5 years, but remember, you won't get it back. ;)

On my BEFRS41, the default is a blank username and "admin" for the password, if I recall correctly.

Hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds or more to revert to factory defaults. You can then try using admin/admin, or whatever the router uses for the default login.

my D-Link, first configuration, you leave the pw field blank and then pw when you configure the router.

now, what good would a router be if your log/pass was admin?

Hey MichaelD! Whats man? :D

AllucardCasull I think there's a way to find out the login and the password thru the TELNET. I dont know how though, but I remember a friend of mine found out the login and the password of my router thru the TELNET.
I think someone that works with networks, or in a ISP, that knows how to use TELNET commands can help you out.

Dude, hold down the reset button on the back of the router for about 5 seconds , let it come back up and now use admin as the password with the username blank. After that, you can configure the router to use whatever username/password you want.

I have a BEFSR41 and it's <blank>/admin (or well until I updated the PW it was). It's likely your browser that's messing up. Install Mozilla or something else and try it again. BTW you said you tried resetting it did it actually reset?

The Reset Button*
The Reset button can be used in one of two ways.
1. If the Router is having problems connecting to the Internet, press the Reset
button for just a moment with a paper clip or a pencil tip. This clears up any
jammed connections, and is similar to pressing the Reset button on your PC
to reboot it.
2. If you are experiencing extreme problems with the Router and have tried all
other troubleshooting measures, press the Reset Button and hold it down
until the red Diag LED on the front panel turns on and off completely.
This will restore factory defaults and clear all of the Router?s settings, including
settings such as IP addresses or a new password.
* The Reset Button is located on the front panel of the 4-Port Router, and the rear panels of the 3-
Port Router and the 1-Port Router.

Maybe you should call Linksys since the info we are giving you is accurate, but for some reason is not working for you. ;)
