I need to bypass the 3 machine limit on WOW! Cable with the auto DHCP assignment. Would a small router allow me to have statically assigned local addresses to do this? Any opinions? It's for a friend... She doesn't know anything about computers and it occured to me that a soloution like this might work.

So anyone?

Sure, you can have all the computers you like connected to a broadband router with a single public IP address. That's one of the principal reasons for a broadband router! :D

This is what i figured but I wasnt sure if your 4 port Router/Switch had the same functionality as say a enterprise quality Cisco Catalyst XXXX (Actually the catalyst line are switches but you know what i mean).

Thanks

Well, I don't think most SOHO broadband routers quite match up to the Cisco line, but they do the job just fine for the typical home or small office installation! :D

I will certianly agree with you there.

I love configuring routers! :). Actually I have been give the assignment of re- cabaling the rack in my CCNA class along with a pal of mine. I think we are both a bit over are head. Obviously the instructor couldnt figure out the problem so he was hoping someone else would be able to..

I was always hoping not.. Although, I spend a lot of time listening to music and playing my guitar in his class... Being one of the highest scoring students makes him suprisingly cool with it.

What a great instructor!
