Router with Uverse?

Is installing a router with Uverse different than with cable? I'm trying to set this up for my mom and when I go through the normal setup process, I can't get to the setup URL for the router. I noticed that her gateway has an indicator light for wireless but its not lit up.

Is there something special I have to do?
 
Unfortunately, with Uverse you must plug your router into the Uverse Gateway box and then configure the Uverse gateway so that the port you plugged into with your router is in DMZ+ mode or else you will have lots of port issues.
