router, wifi, and vpn configuration

hi all,

i would like to have a second wireless access point behind my router/dsl modem (which has wifi). on the second wifi access point, i would be running dd-wrt on a linksys router which is configured to connect to a vpn server. i have this configured and working but only when its directly connected to the internet. is it possible to run it behind the existing router. what i am looking for is 2 wifi connections, 1 which is open, 1 which is automatically on the vpn. hope that makes sense 😀
