Router to Router?

Sorry if I leave off any important information as I am not a very tech savvy person. I have a Gateway PC at home running on Windows Vista Home Premium. My current internet provider is ATT/SBC. I have a 2Wire modem. It says 2701HG-B on the front. I also believe it is a router as it has 4 ethernet plugs in the back. My problem is that the only phone jack in my house is in the basement. My PC is on the second floor and does not have a wireless card in it so I have to run a phone line up 2 flights of stairs to have internet access on my PC. I remembered that I have another wireless router that I used in my previous house and wondered if there was a way to have that router connected to my PC and have it communicate wirelessly to the 2wire which I could just have in the basement. The other router I have is a Linksys WRT54G. I know I should just by the wireless adapter for my PC, but if I already have what I need, I would rather find a way to do it without spending more money. Thanks!

If you aren't tech savvy, I would suggest just purchasing a wireless bridge or a router that has already been flashed and set up as a bridge.
