I've been asked to order and setup a wireless network for my girlfriend's parents. One of them will be using the connection for business and requires a certain level of security. I know the entry level routers in the sub $100 are very popular, and I was wondering if any of the mid-level routers would provide more security (a built in firewall maybe? Not sure if this would help)
I have a netgear WG614 and even with the WEP, WPA, and mac address security, I'm not sure I'd be comfortable conducting business over the connection, so I was hoping there would be a more secure option (other than a wired connection, which it my boil down to being the best option in the end) that costs a little more money.
One product I am curious about is the Netgear ProSafe 802.11g Wireeless Router/Fireeall w/ USB Print Server Model FWG114P. It has a built in firewall obviously, but I'm not sure this would be much better than what I have.
It probably seems that I'm not sure exactly what I'm looking for, and that's exactly right. I guess I'm just looking for something that would provide me with the peace of mind that the setup is secure.
