Router random restarting

I have cable internet through Charter. My old modem was a Motorola SB4250 I believe which just stopped responding, so I went and bought a SB5100 and called Charter and gave them the new MAC address. No problems there, internet worked the second I told him the MAC address, the problem started around 30 minutes later, when windows informed the 3 computers on the network that our network cables were unplugged. This problem occurs every 30 - 45min. The only thing that was changed was the cable modem, this router(Dlink DI-524) has been in use for well over a month now and has been completely flawless after first setup. I was just wondering if the modem could be causing the router to reboot or what exactly is going on? Also when I check the log in the router it seems as if it is clearing the log everytime it resets so I can't track any other information in there. Well thanks for the help guys.
