Router question

Hello,

I have now a D-link DI-624M wireless router my sister gave me but I am using the wired connection, the problem is that I can stream media to my Xbox360 from the computer, but it won't connect to the internet or Xbox Live, both the xbox and my computer are detecting the same ip address from the router. I can access the router's login page, using the admin user and nothing on the password field, but I can not log on. I have reset the router and tried accesing the internet on safe mode, but with no luck. Do you think I need the setup cd from the router to configure it?

Thanks.

Does your computer connect to the internet through the router? Also, what type of internet connection do you have?

If the computer works fine and the Xbox does not, chances are the Xbox is not picking up the proper gateway address.

Hi,

No, both the the Xbox and the computer are not connecting to the internet through the router, but I can stream media to the Xbox360 from my computer, I have a cable connection. Does resetting the router resets the passwords as well, nothing I put on the login screen seems to be working, I am going to see if my sister can get the CD that came with the router.

Thanks for the reply.

Hello,

I connected both the PC and the Xbox to the router the same way they were before after one day without using the router and I can connect to the internet from both now, that router wasn't used for a long time, I guess that could be the reason. I still can't log in to the router, besides the username admin and the password left blank, what other username or password I can use? I have reset the router about five times with no luck.

Thanks.
