I dont know much about routers and im hoping someone can shed some light on my problem. Me and my wife play counterstrike together and hers keeps freezing up and then within 2min mine will lag very badly. If i exit out of CS i notice a box popping up in the toolbar that says something about lan cable disconnected or something to that effect. The only time we have this problem is when BOTH of us are playing. Could this be a router problem? Ethernet cable? Cable modem?

Just FYI other people that have the same internet provider are not having any issues at all. So its not my ISP. When we are both surfing the net there are no problems. Or when one of us is playing CS and the other is surfing its fine. Wondering if there is too much of a load when we are both playing CS so its overloading something.

We have been using this exact same set up for over 3 years....Problem only started about 2 days ago and ive tried reseting the modem and router.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I dont want to run out and buy a new router or go exchange my modem if there is some other problem.

Next time try posting a question like this in the Networking section, you will get many more precice answers than you would in General Hardware- The place where people ask should I get OCZ or Corsair?
