Router question

Hi, I want to build a new network at home and since I'm kind of new to this side of computing, I'm looking for advices.

I want to network 2 PC and a XBox and share my internet connection betwen those 3 devices.

Is there a router that I could plug my cable modem into who would automaticly share my connection, or do I need to connect my cable modem to one of the PC with 2 NIC and then send the connection the the other 2.

If such a router exist, will I be able to share my files and printer using the same connection ?

Is there any router with known connection problems with an XBox so I don't buy one of those ?

Thanks in advance

short answer: yes

not as far as i know, netgear has a tutorial on how to get around some minor probs

Thanks N4S

Anyone have some sugestion for a good router who would meet those specific need ?

I would probably need one with more than 4 port cause I may add more PC later.

Get yourself a Microsoft 4 Port router...
It's a router, and it's XBOX compatible (whatever that means. It says it on the box).

That's what I use to route my 3 PCs and XBOX. works like a charm.

Why should I get this Router???

Does it perform the best?

It has the most Port mapping capacity?

The Firewall is very flexible with a lot of special filters?

It can put more then one computer on the DMZ?

It is inexpensive?

99% of the Routers are compatible with the X-Box.

Many Routers are cheaper, and are more flexible than this one!!!
