Router problems?

I purchased a Linksys BEFSR41 v2 to share my internet amoung my three home computers. I have OPTIMUM ONLINE w/VOIP on the Motorola SurfBoard SBV5129 modem.

Everything is running, all three computers have internet access and access to eachother, however, every 15-30 minutes or so the internet connection will drop out and I will get signed off of AIM/downloads cancel/freeze/pause, webpages stop responding and loading/ect ect. It comes back on in about 30 seconds.

The modem lights do not indicate any issues with the connection itself, and this problem does not occur at all if the modem is wired directly to a single computer. This leads me to beleive it must be the router causing this problem. The computer does not show the "network cable unplugged" icon/error or anything, access between computers is never interupted, it is only the access to the outside internet that drops out.

I have updated it to the latest firmware today to no avail.

I am beginning to feel out of options here so I am hoping someone here has an answer that lies withing the settings.

I just bought a netgear, speeds are back to full, no drop outs, everything 100%... plus now I have wireless, even though I don't use it yet.
