Router problems

My Netgear router (RP614) can't see my IP address. I followed all of the instructions (even used the startup CD), but nothing doing.

All connections are correct. I'm thinking the modem and the router aren't syncing up like they should....or something. Networking isn't really my jazz, and this is starting to drive me up the wall. Please help me!

Turn off your computer.
Unplug the modem from the router.
Only have an ethernet cable from the router to your computer.
Restart your router by holding down the button in the back (usually need to use a paper clip or something similiar) for at least 30 seconds.
Let the router reboot.
Turn your computer back on, wait until its fully booted.
Do Command Prompt, ipconfig /all, you should have 192.168.x.x IP address. If so, your router is fine

Now turn off your router and computer.
Reboot your cable/dsl modem by doing the same button in the back. Sometimes this needs to be done because it is looking for a MAC address different from your routers (usually your original computer's NIC mac address).
Wait 30 seconds, let it reboot. now plug ethernet cable from modem to your router. Let the DHCP config, wait about a minute.
Now turn on your computer, should work. ipconfig /all should return 192.168.x.x again.
