router problems, can't get FTP working....

hello. i still can't figure out how to get my ftp server to work since im behind a firewall cuz of my router, and i have DMZ on. i have an SMC 4 port barricade and i looked at a port list for special apps but, im not quite sure how to enter them in. heres the deal, i want to have my ftp server online at port 21... what all do i need to do under "special applications" and/or "virtual server" in my router administration? here are the fields under the special apps section....


trigger port | trigger type | public port | public type | enabled

(tcp or udp) (tcp or udp)





so really, i just need to know what exactly to enter to get my ftp server working and so i can send files over AIM (i already know the ports for that and msn). i appreciate everyones time! peace. -dave

Under "Virtual Server" -
Fill in the IP of your computer inside the firewall.
Private port - 21
Type - tcp
Public port - 21

Repeat and change the port numbers, tcp/udp type for AIM/MSN as neccessary.
