Router problem?

im trying to get my dsl connection working...problem is that whenver it ry connecting with usre name and pass it says cant establish ppoe connection or something. Im guessing its the router because pc works when i connect it to directly. The router and my 2 pcs were working fine till they brought this new cable/modem for the tv. So now the net is plugged into that instead of the dsl modem.
