I was trying to help my dad with his router that he does not know the admin password for and i cannot change the firewall settings on the damn thing with out it, anyway to resolve this... The home network was setup by geek squad since i was not available to do it for him when he needed it done.

Find the manual for the router (either on paper or online). There should be a way to reset the router to its factory settings, including the default password. The exact process depends on the model.

what brand and model router is it?

And like cleverhandle said, look up the user manual for the username/password as well.

Most routers, have a reset switch, recessed on the back of the unit. Depress it with like a pen or paper clip
for about 30 seconds or so to reset to the factory defaults.
You will still need to post the Make / Model so we can tell you what the Factory Default Password is.
If Geek Squad did anything to it, they should have told you the New Password if they changed it.
You might give them a call and see if they can look it up for you. They should have it in their records.

Note: Geek Squad is supposed to put a Sticker on your Router with the Router Name & Password
they put on it.
