I have a DLink DI-624 wireless router sitting on top of my television (CRT). Would the television, when turned on, cause any interference or damage to the router? I've noted that both the wireless performance and reception of the router has degraded considerably over time, and I'm wondering if living on top of the TV is the culprit.

Or it could just be time for a new router.

well i don't know about your over time deal, but yes, tv's and monitors especially of the CRT type kill router reception. When I tried my laptop 2 months ago I got zero reception in my room. Naturally I was peeved. I went to the router (4 walls and 150ft. separating) and thought. It was behind my 17" desktop LCD. So I moved it 10ft. away from the monitor. Instant 4 bar reception in my room.
