Router No Longer Recognized...No Connectivity

after years of totally trouble free service, last night i lost connectivity in my network. i spent about an hour on the phone with my isp (comcast) and we ran through all their checks, reset the entire thing (modem, router, pc) a few times to no avail. we also tried to renew or release the ip address and this would not work either...

when i tried ipconfig/renew or release i either got an invalid ip address (169...) or an error message.

so i took the router out of the network, and a direct connection between modem and my pc is fine. something's up with the router.

last step, went to linksys support site and downloaded their network 'easylink advisor tool', and when it tried to recognize the router it was unable.

so i'm out of ideas except to buy a new one. i can't believe the router just up and died, but i'm all out of tricks.

any help would be appreciated. if i can't get this to run i'm going to have to go out and buy a new one later today. thanks!!
