Router needs rebootting/DCing

For the past 8+ years I have been using routers, random DCing (disconnects), bad ports, wireless outtages, have been a fairly common sight amongts the cheaper sub $100 router. Sometimes it's bad ports, bad wiring, poor signal, firmware, etc. One problem which I have never found a concrete solution to is random disconnects. Not single port but entire outtages of either wireless clients or both wired and wireless.

Currently I am struggling with a Linksys/Cisco older model wireless B router with 4 port switch (about $80 new/2 years ago). The router worked fine for the past 2 years on my comcast cable connection. Since moving a few months ago (still using Comcast) its disconnecting alot, most often the wireless clients but sometimes total failure of both wireless and wired (usually 2 wireless clients, 2-3 wired). The solution is easy, reboot the router and everything is back up. This is a problem I have seen on alot of routers yet a solution/answer seems to be a little difficult to find other then a guess of "it's bad" or "cable signal is bad".

The cable signal is a very possible problem with a signal strength that was out of range. This was rememdied a month ago with new wiring and a signal boost. Still, the router needs rebooting from time to time, a few times a week. Tonight it needed 2 reboots within 10 minutes. I have reviewed the event log on the modem and dont see anything to blame for the 2 times the signal went out. Often times just the wireless signal goes out on the router and wired clients are fine, other times like tonight both wired and wireless go out. Another Dlink router has been tried and suffered the same problem.

I'd like to hear some thoughts on what the most likely cause could be. Cable signal issue? Or router hardware/software issue? Firmware is up to date. Is DCing wireless clients and not wired clients a common reaction of a router with a bad cable internet signal?

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.
