router/modem question

Is there a way to acess the UI on my modem from behind my router?
Right now the only way I know to get at it is directly connect my computer to my modem

Sure, if your modem is 192.168.0.1, your router is 192.168.2.1, and you are 192.168.2.2, then you should be able to access the modem by putting 192.168.0.1 in your web browser or whatever. A common situation is that _both_ the router and modem have the same IP address out of the box (probably 192.168.0.1) - this will still allow you to access the internet as the router probably speaks to the modem through some lower-level protocol. If they have different IPs and it still doesn't work, the router is specifically preventing it.

So could I just change the IP on my router to something besides 192.168.0.1 and then type that in to get to the modem?

EDIT: Yup, shoulve tried first 🙂 Thanks
