I've been using this Belkin F5D5230-4 Gateway Router for about 6 months with Cox cable. I used to have 2 PC's on it, now just one. I'm now starting to experience a lot of disconnects from the router. Its happened a few times in the past but it is happening very frequently now.
I'll get a 'network cable uplugged' message in Windows. I cant connect to the router interface and my computer searches for an IP address. After a couple minutes or so it will eventually grab an IP address again and my connection is back up. This is a very annoying problem because it is started to happen every 45 minutes or so, sometimes less.
I'm using the latest firmware for the router, so I dont really know what the problem could be other than my router is dying or flaking out.
Btw, I'm using the onboard NIC on my Abit NF7-S.

Anyone know what it could be?

Add a nic and use it. If it keeps happening connect directly to your modem and if it is still happening, then it must be your ISP otherwise your router.

Well it just did it again and wouldn't give me back an IP address. I was stuck in the 169.254.x.x range. So I unplugged the router and reset it. When it came back on I could connect again. So I am fairly sure it is the router. I'm wondering if it is a problem with the routers built-in DHCP. I'm considering turning DHCP off on the router and assigning myself a static IP to see if it clears anything up.
