Router is already online but browser still prompts dialup

I have a Netgear WGR 614v6 installed and everything is working fine - meaning I can go onto the internet with no problems. Heck, download speeds appear to be even faster than when I had the DSL modem directly plugged into my PC.

But the problem is Firefox keeps on prompting me to connect to the internet via dial-up broadband - I get the windows dial-up dialog box. I can't seem to set this solved but I figured it must be some setting that I don't know off.

Anyone care to help me out??

Thanks alot!!

Tools, Options, General Tab, Connection Settings .. Select never dial a connection

That should fix it

Curious . . . have set to "never dial a connection" on Internet Explorer but my version of Firefox does not have the option. It is currently on auto-detect proxy settings for this network.

What version of Firefox ? ? ... it is in All of them as far as I know ... Open Firefox
and Click on Tools, General Tab, Connection Settings, Never Dial A Connection ... it
is just above the Auto Detect check box ... you should be at the latest version 1.5.0.1

I kid you not. There are 4 options to be selected, namely

1) Direct connection to the internet
2) Auto-detect proxy settings for this network
3) Maunal proxy configuration
4) Autmotic proxy configuration URL

I have selected option 2. And I am using version 1.5.0.1. Well, at least since I have set the IE internet connection to "Never Dial A Connection" the pop-up has so far not appeared.
