Why do they come with a cd, when all you have to do is plug it in and it works

it gives me the router IP address
and it helps configure it
But if it already works why would there be configuration

I never start with the CD's that come with a router, and I've never need them with any brand so far. 😀 I'd much rather do a manual setup so I know what was configured.
