Good deal, although if you get a 10/100 hub or switch, your networked computers could communicate much faster with each other.

You could also use the $20 off $100 coupon and the rebate to bring the router down to $68.

True enough cremefilled, but a cable modem usually downloads at a max of 1.5Mbps and with only 3 or 4 computers hooked up you probably don't need very much bandwidth. Just my two cents :)

Sorry for asking a potentially stupid question, but this looks kindof cool. So this router can be used to share one DSL account? Does it matter if it is the static or dynamic IP address type? Do you have to be running a certain OS with software or would you just configure each computer as if it was the only one connecting to the DSL line? If I can use this instead of setting up Windows 98 service pack 2 to share my DSL that would be awesome. Don't go to too much trouble to find the answer, I could probably research it too, but I'm not all that familiar with network stuff so if someone could dummy it down for me and give me a simple answer that would be awesome. Thanks.

Seems a done deal for you, but for those who read this, there might be a better "deal",
The SMC7004BR
comes around 10$ more (with the CD's) BUT
is one unit only (one power supply etc)
has a printserver,
has a modem option in case the cable is down
and is 10/100 (good for PC to PC transfer)

Some detailed info is
here
Many threads had been dealing with this topic, seems cable is finally comming...

I thought rebate on SMC expired on 10/31. Has it been extended? If not, then it no longer is $10 more.

Of course, it would really help performance between your local machines. If you do a lot of LAN gaming or file transfer between local machines, 10/100 is the way to go.

Stupid, not. Great deal if 1 could manage at this hour.
I think that dsl or cable means static IP address which shouldn't be an issue. I don't _think_ that operating systems/browsers would be a problem in these set-ups inasmuch as they're merely sharing or maybe dividing would be better, what is compatible with either or all.
