So, my router finally got me connected to the internet, but I noticed that Vista no longer sees the router when I go to view computers and devices, my router is no longer there. Any reason why? I saw it their before, but not anymore. Could it have to do with my firmware?

My firmware is DD-WRT, and router is a Buffalo WHR-G54S.

Oh. Well, it doesn't bother me, I just didn't know if there was something wrong.

I now have another problem.

When I try to connect my XP computer to the router, it connects fine, but won't connect to the internet. After checking the computer settings, I see that is an invalid ip address, which is why I think I can't connect.
I'm thinking that the DHCP isn't giving out the ip to the other computer, but I don't know. Any ideas on this problem?

Hey, I did that, and well I can see my router again in the devices menu.
The only thing that seems weird though, is that it shows it twice. Why is that?

edit: nevermind, double router problem fix. Just needed a restart.

edit: Yay, other computer is connected now.

Just one question, the computer was put in the "unspecified" category. What exactly does that mean? I can't access it or anything, does xp have some special "allowing file sharing" stuff too? Been so long since I used it.
