Router has problems when a specific PC is Plugged in

Hi Guys,

My WRT54G seems to work fine, except for when I plug in my desktop! It just started doing this today and has been fine for months. As soon as I plug in my desktop the port light for the desktop and the Internet light go nuts. I suspected that it was something on my desktop but spy ware and virus scans show nothing.

This only happens under windows so it's got to be a software issue, Linux is fine.

Help!

How do you know this is a problem? What do you mean by "go nuts?" If the machine hasn't been plugged in and you then plug it in, there may very well be normal stuff you have running that wakes up and realizes it has a connection, and starts synching with remote servers, etc. What sort of software do you run on the box at startup?

Yes, we need a bit more specific information on just what this means before offering any useful advice beyond suggesting that you try another netwrk adapter to see if it does the same thing.

Sorry, I already tired the other adapters onboard (wired and wireless). I've solved the problem, I'm not sure how it got there but it was some rogue process that was executing on startup.
