Router - getting past the firewall

I have a server on irc. I can download files fine, but when it comes to uploading, or people connecting to my server, it messes it up all the time. I have dmz hosting enabled for my ip. I've also tried port forwarding (all ports) to my computer. How can I fix this pain in the @$$.

Thanks
Steve

umm dmz should do it. i can't even figure out dmz on my router (dlink 701) so you prolly have linksys and my friends can upload fine when it is on dmz

What broadband router do you have? Also, what verion of firmware do you have installed on it? And, post back your config of your router.

An isolated issue with *some* linksys routers (apparently quite rare, actually) prevents users from uploading and downloading at the same time (router will stop working until turned off/on). There are currently no firmware fixes and it remains undocumented as far as I know. If you've exhausted all other options, you may want to look into exchanging your router.

In any case, knowing what router you're using, firmware revision, and what 'messes up all the time' really means would be helpful (lots of errors/corrupted files? router stops working? speed issues?)
