I'm trying to make a dedicated counterstrike server out of my old computer. It has a working internet connection on my cable router. The router is a netgear rt314.

Someone told me i needed to open a port on the router or something for people to be able to connect to it. How do i straighten these ports out?

Open up your browser and type 192.168.0.1 then put in your login name and password. The default settings login name is ADMIN and password is 1234.

Then click on the SAU/NAT button on left and put in your IP and Port of the server the router assigned to it.

I dont know nothing about setting up CS server and opening a IP and port but thats how you go about opening up the router.

Good Luck!

If you route port 80 will it make it so you can't get into that interface on the netgear?

no, you will still be able to access the netgear from any comp, at least on my smartlink(which has the same type of interface as the netgear) it will still let you access it from any comp no matter where you have port 80 pointed.
