Router firmware upgrade & FF3.

My netgear router refuses to let me upgrade my router firmware while using firefox 3.

I would get to the browse for firmware screen, select the firmware, click upload, and viola! Invalid filename.

Open up IE, repeat same thing with same file, now it works. wtf?

My old linksys router never had problems using alternate browsers for firmware upgrade, this is just stupid.

//weak rant.

You want to know what is even more hilarious? Linksys usually uses Linux as the operating system on their routers. You would think a company that has invested that heavily in using Linux would support open source browsers better than this.

Aren't you confusing 2 different manufacturers: Netgear vs. Linksys?

Possibly. I might of worded something wrong, so let me clarify.

My current router is netgear and wouldn't let me upgrade the firmware using firefox.

My old router (which died) was linksys and never had any problems using a third-party browser.

It's weird because I am using the latest version or both java and flash, and I cannot think of a reason for it to not work; unless it has something to do with ActiveX...
