Router disconnecting?

Router is a D-Link DIR-615. Used to share internet with a wired computer and a laptop.

This is our first time using a router so we just followed the basic setup, by logging in to the router settings manually rather than via the install CD, and left everything as the default settings other than changing the SSID and selecting security and password. I also turned off WPS.

It seems to work as expected but on every fifth day it has dropped the connection. A couple of times it was the wireless connection. Once it was even the wired one. All it takes to get it back is to just log in to the router and change a setting, save and then the internet works again.

Any tips on how to go about troubleshooting this?

Thanks.

So much for it happening every 5th day. Happened on the 3rd just now.

No idea if this is anything useful to include but the log had this as the last entry before it dropped the wireless internet connection (wired still worked this time).

ath0: STA xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx IEEE 802.11: disassociated (xx'ed out numbers in case that isn't supposed to be a public thing.. no idea).

I just logged into the router settings and made a change which makes it work again.

I tried using that InSSIDer program and, though I don't understand it, it lists the router as on a channel different from anything else.

Third day since the last dropped connection and just happened again.

More info needed, too difficult to try to troubleshoot.. time to consider buying another router?

Any help is appreciated.
