I already posted this in other forum, but didnt get much replies except one guy telling me to get a wireless router.
Here's my issue:
I have two computers in my apartament. A desktop PC and a Laptop. Both computers are new, and both have network cards inside them. My Laptop, unlike my desktop has a wireless network card in it. Can somebody please recommend me a good, stable router? I need one that tolerates online gaming well, because I heared that routers generally do not like online games and have many problems with that. Also, I would prefer a non wireless router, as I heared that wireless is bad for health. I have absolutely no idea how to make all this junk work, so please, if you can point me to a site that shows how to set up a "network" or whatever this setup is called when you make it so that you can connect to the internet from all computers that you have in your household. Oh, and one more thing. I have DSL, and right now, I'm using a trusty old non wireless Westell WireSpeed modem.
Again, I would prefer a non wireless router that allows online gaming and gives descent speed. If you own a wireless one, please tell me if it had any bad effects on you. This might sound crazy to you, but there's a ton of info on the net saying the less wireless you have in your household, the better. Personally, I'm clueless on this matter.

The other day Mr. Tom Cruise (The mediocre actor and Big star) stated on a talk show that he knows for fact that there can not be a chemical imbalance in the Human Brain.

Well I guess that since he is a celebrity he knows every thing. It happened to be that all Brain functions are done by Chemicals (called Neurotransmitters) but Hey Cruise stared in Mission Impossible so any thing is possible,

In any case May be this can Help.

This is the way a Wired or and Wireless Home Network looks like: http://www.ezlan.net/network/router.jpg

There is a 'ton of info' on the internet backing up any quack-pot theory you could possibly come up with.

Many years ago (before the Internet) I use to teach Research Design in Grad school.

In order to explain probability we use the following.

If you put infinite amount of monkeys in front of infinite amount of Typewriters and you teach them how to press the keys. Few of them eventually would write the bible and others will produce Shakespeare work again.

Well these monkeys are currently employed by the Internet.;)

Thanx for that, JackMDS, but even though I've been in college for four years, your comparison made just about zero sence to me. Well the thing is, it's great to be obtimistic like you guys, but the fact is, I didnt make up this stuff I said. In fact I certainly wish it was all BS.
Unfortunately, since this info is everywhere, some of it must be true to some extent. That's some probability for you.
Another thing I want to mention is none of you have named a single descent wired router yet.......... (that's cool though, because I already chose one on newegg, so I'll take a risk and get that one)

My analogy meant to Hi-light that their is always people that take parts of knowledge and amplify it to serve their purposes even if there is No prove to it (Cruise remarks involves is religious believe in Scientology).

Remember few years ago when all the ?Green House? effect was predicted to cause an ongoing global warming. Well it did not happen we are through a cool off stage at the moment.

Yeah there is research that shows that certain level and type of Signal Radiation might contribute to certain disorders; prevalent of Learning disabilities is higher among Children that live in close proximity to High Voltage lines.

However the atmosphere around us is saturated for many years with man made Electronic signals (Radio, TV, Phones, Microwave, etc.) thus far there is no indication that it is related to known diseases.

In any case It does not make a sense to get a Wired Router since the price differential is very little.

Get A Wireless Router and do not use the Wireless for the time being.

Example for two deal.

4-Port Cable/DSL Broadband Router. $9 after rebate.

AirStation 54 Mbps Wireless Cable/DSL Router. $9.99 after rebate.

A small note on wireless routing and gaming. My wireless router averages 54mbps and the internet connection I have is less than 3mbps so I see that my router would have to have a pretty bad signal to affect my gaming/internet experience. I personally love wireless and don't like having wires everywhere. Although, I do have a half and half network with 2 pc's hardwired and 2 wireless pc's. ;)
