I have Comcast Digital Cable and a Linksys 802.11B router. I'm hardwired into the router and my mom uses the wireless part. Recently i've been having to power cycle the router to stay connected to the internet, otherwise about every hour it will disconnect. I called comcast and they came out to the house and did their diagnostics. They said everything was fine on their end. So I went out and got a Belkin wireless G router. While the Belkin fixed my connection issues, it was way slower than the Linksys. Internet generally felt sluggish, and downloads and online games were significantly slower. I tried updating firmware on both routers, but to no avail. What should I do?

I dl/ed that program and entered the suggested values, however when I'm connecting through the Belkin router it's still greatly slower. I don't understand how a G router is being slower than a B router. Ive messed around with the settings in the Belkin's config to no avail. Im just about to return it. It is way smaller physically than the Linksys but at least it stays connected. But when i try to ping servers it finds like <1000 and they all ping horribly. The linksys finds like 20,000 servers and they all ping good.
