Dear all,

I'm in need of some help. I have a Linksys WRT54G, and I'm soon going to move to a place which has access to a public wifi hotspot. There is no WEP encryption or anything.

Now, what I'd like to do is set up a private home wifi network, but have this network access the public wifi network for internet access. I'd also like that access to come via a router, since I don't want to create a dedicated web server box.

Is this possible? Cheers!

If you have a second wireless router, you can also use one WRT54G as a wireless client bridge using third-party firmware such as DD-WRT.

or openWRT. that one seems to be the most popular, and very well supported.

Or HyperWRT 2.1 + Thibor, that does the same and much easier to handle.;)

Problem is that it very hard to find WRT54G v 1-4, and WRT54L is Not cost effective.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll try it out and let you know how it goes. Maybe the game adaptor/bridge might be the simplest way to go...
