So I'm looking to buy a wireless router. I heard from a guy that Linksys is good, NetGear and D-Link are bad? your opinions?

this topic has been beaten to death here, but as far as routers are concerned

my favorites as Buffalos, they aren't the cheapest, but aren't the most expensive. and they work wonderfully. I personally have had a bunch of bad encounters with Linksys, but some people swear by them. NetGear I'm undecided, I actually don't like D-Link, but I don't have a over abundance of time with their products. Best Buy now carries Buffalo so there's no reason to not at least look into them. I'm sure the Tools who work at BB will push Linksys with the "speedboost" technology as the router you must own. But nobody I've spoken to who uses Buffalo has anything negative to say...

Why not? ;)

Actually Ive tried alot of them and DLink made the best router / switch Ive ever owned. Then everything went wireless and turned junky. They dont make 'em like they used to anymore.

I used to always buy Netgear and recommend them but recently I've been experiencing more and more problems... might be time to switch.

So the assumption is that every thing that one Brand does "Rulez", and every thing done by another brand is a "Looser".

Their is No room to Good Model, or Bad Model.

Like the Linksys WRT54G version 4 is a very Good unit, but the WRT54G version 5 ?Sti**k?.

Like some of the D-Link Wireless are ?Bad? and therefore it is impossible that the
D-Link DGL-4300 is (expensive) but decent unit.

Or if some one needs inexpensive decent Router that does WDS, the Belkin F5D7230-4 might be a Good solution.

One think I like about Buffalo they don't have a buttload of different products. They have 2 routers, both similarly priced.

It seems both my routers i have from Belken and Linksys wireless and wired both crap out after alot of heavy traffic, bittorrent or hours of online games always seem to make these routers restart. I have to go unplug and replug amd it acts like nothing happen...

I guess I'll try Buffalo next :(
