I wanted to set up whole home VPN on a router. The Linksys WRT3200 seems like a good candidate since i bring FIOS Gig Internet into the house. My thought is to use the WRT3200 in place of the FOIS router (Ethernet run from the ONT), then run NordVPN or ExpressVPN on the router. I would also be using a Linksys RE9000 to extend the Internet across the house.

I was wondering if anyone had experiences with either of the two VPN providers and router based setup. Any differences in stability of solutions. communities support, speed etc?

Thanks,

Yes, I'll lose some bandwidth, but my Spanish wife will be able to stream content to the Chromecast from a Spanish Domain. Also, I'm not going to always be in the VPN. It appears I can set up different routing rules for the guest account and let her switch into that connection as needed. Plus, a Gig isn't a bad place to start.

I figured I'd have to reflash with specialized firmware. So tech support will be a bit of an issue when there are connectivity problems with FIOS. I'm sure that will only happen when I'm out of town so my wife will be EXTRA frustrated.
