Router and online gaming

I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer but I thought I would be able to figure this out! I have a cable modem run through a Netgear 314. Everything works fine except I can't online game. I know it has something to do with the firewall but how do I configure it so it will allow me to game? All ideas appreciated and thanks

you have to find out what ports that the game is using and then configure the router to leave them open.

You need to flash new firmware.
