Router and Firewall Problems

I'm a noob to this whole networking thing and now I just recently installed a wireless router in my house. I was running sygate personal firewall on my laptop and computer. However, although I can surf the web, many sites take forever to load, and often times its the ones with .jpg's. Once I turn off my sygate firewall, everything flows freely. I tried allowing all traffic in sygate. No luck there. Is there any solution to this or do I just have to run the computer without sygate?

Well you have two options.

1. Learn how the configure Sygate they way it should.

2. Try another Firewall.

Thanks I downloaded the Kerio Firewall. There is less lag time between opening up webpages. I don't know what else to do or how to configure it. I have tried numerous things I have found online, all to no avail. I apologize for my idiocy but any help would be appreciated.

First off, JackMDS, I love you. OK I think I figured out what the problem is, but no solution yet. I believe it has to do with my outgoing traffic. I remember going to DSLreports.com and trying the speed tests. Loads the java program fine, downloads perfectly ok, then when it comes to the uploading, it just STOPS. I have NO IDEA how to configure my router to fix this. I emailed Motorola and they said to turn off the firewall on my router, other than that they can't help me with third party software. Didn't work. This sucks. I'm surfing with nothing more than Window's firewall and my router firewall. I feel naked.
