Rounded IDE Cables

Does it matter what brand? Name brand vs generic? What brand should I get? What should I look for in ide Cables?

Thanks all in advance

Make sure the cables are ATA133 compliant, the brand only really matters for durability. As for quality of the wiring, they should all be more or less the same. Keep in mind the more shielding you have, the better theoretical transfer rates you should have. I bought my self cheepie rounded cables, and they're really stiff. They serve their purpose though.

I was going to do a new post, but since my question is very related to JJADAMS' I'll tag along.

It's a good question, and one I don't have enough experience in to answer confidently. To date I've purchased the "better" rounded cables and not had an issue. I see that newegg is selling a line of cables from Coolmax. Does anyone have any experience w/ these cables? The Coolmax line seems to have a number of options re cable length, compared to other brands.

JJADAMS, I know that SVC sells rounded cables for cheap - what's everyone's experience w/ the quality of their offerings? FWIW SVC gets good reviews on Resellerratings.com

The cables from SVC have worked great for me. Those Blue EL Silver Round Cables that they just started selling are pretty sweet, but you should only get those if you have a window in your case.
