Rounded cables with K7S5A?

Does anyone know if it is possible to use rounded cables with a K7S5A? MY video card goes right over the top of my primary IDE controller and my IDE cable has to bend over at a 90 degree angle just so the cable will fit in. Has anyone successfully used a rounded cable on a K7S5A primary IDE port?

You should have no trouble using a rounded cable on that board. They are capable of the same 90 degree turn as a flat cable because they are indeed "flat" right at the connector (the last inch or so).

I'm using rounded cables on all of the IDE/floppy connectors with no problems. On another note, the location of the connectors can't possibly be any worse because even smaller video cards always end up jamming against the cables. STUPID STUPID ARRGH!

Yes, but CHEAP, CHEAP! Just keep remembering the bargin you got for this board. That helps a bit but I agree, the position is stupid. I have built several with that board and it always "comes up" during the build.

Rounded cables are actually easier to use than ribbon cables, because the last inch near the connector is the bare wires, not bonded together (other than the sheath which just slides off), so it's extremely flexible. An 80 wire ribbon cable is stiff and sometimes hard to twist into the right position. However it doesn't actually hurt anything for you to bend the ribbon cable around to fit past the video card, and you will have to do the same thing with a rounded cable if the kind you get ends up with the wires coming out of the upper part of the connector rather than the lower.
