Rough Lunch today

So I just had a great time at lunch today. The service was slow as hell and it took an hour and fifteen minutes to leave. We paid and left and as we walked out to my truck.... no radio. F*&*^. They pried my door handle off of my truck and got in that way. Originally it looked like it was only the radio and some dash damage (it was the 5 year old GM factory radio). The call to the Dallas Police department was met with a "We'll probably be out there in 5-6 hours" so we got in and drove back to work. I guess insurance would cover it.

On the way back I noticed on more thing:

I had an envelope with 6 checks in it to cash at the bank. I had endorsed them and planned to cash them immediately following the restaraunt but now.... gone. It was about $300 worth of checks from friends that we had all chipped in to buy something. Now the asswipes had acct info for all my friends. Called back to the DPD.... please call back in an hour.

Theyre probably too dumb to do anything with your checks/acct info if theyre ripping off factory stereos........

Yeah, but I would like to somehow be able to get ahead of them so that if they DO try to cash them they can be caught. Guess it doesn't work that way.

factory stereos many times are worth alot more than aftermarket ones

Thats why you dont sign your checks til you are about to cash/deposit them.

Yeah, I hate waiting in line behind someone taking forEVER to go through the drive thru because they are endorsing their checks. Guess that will be me next time.

maybe they only stole the stereos because they were hoping you would focus on that instead of the checks, so that they would have time to do some serious damage. Perhaps that's giving them too much credit though... *shrug*

It does suck, for sure. Sorry, didn't mean to be an ass. I just read the other thread with the guy who found his wife dead, and well, I agree, my comment wasn't really needed here. I suck.

I hope they catch the bastards, but, they'll be back on the street the next day, so it won't do any good. 🙁

BTW, did you have an alarm, just curious?

That wasn't being an ass, it was funny... I was just giving you hell. Nope, no alarm. Didn't think I needed one on a 1999 Chev Tahoe with all factory inside.
