What would cause a car to vibrate quite a bit sitting at idle but is fine while driving? I tried changing fuel filter, oxygen sensor and plugs with no luck. Its a 96 Geo Prizm.
What's the idle speed (RPM)? It could be worn engine mounts. I don't think that the 1.6 and 1.8 litre engines used in the Prism had balance shafts, and 4-cylinder engines are inherently vibration prone. It's fairly typical for small 4-cylinders to vibrate at idle and smooth out a bit once under way.

It wasn't as bad when I got the car about 4 months ago. Its auto and putting it in neutral does help some but not much. Idle speed is around 2k when first starting it but after it warms up it drops to around 1k.
Of course it doesn't vibrate much when first started.
