So, my brother's Bimmer (06 325i 57k miles A/T) started showing this weird symptom last night.
The car is fine while it is cold. And then once it's warmed up and I put the car in R or D, there is frequent, like 3 seconds apart, rough idling with vibration. It feels like the vibration is from under the car right below driver's seat, not engine. Then once I start moving at normal speed like 30+ mph, I can't feel vibration. Service Engine Light is on this morning (was not there last night) assuming because of this.
What kind of the issue can this be? I am going to bring the car in to the dealer hoping it's something covered under powertrain warranty, but I want to get some idea of possible cause.
