Yeah, we woke up up this today. Alarms in the building, surprised they cut off, and didn't last longer really. My wife, and I got out safe, but spend 3 hrs+ waiting to get back in...

Yeah, we could see it from our window, but at least they were all closed, so no smoke damage.

Firefighters were called to the Cavalier Club apartments in the 6200 block of Wilson Boulevard about 7:45 a.m. Saturday for a report of a suicide attempt in a second-floor apartment.

Damn people, if you want to kill yourself, do so without endangering anyone else.

I'm not sure what he was up to, it not exactly common knowledge.... Didn't know him.

How badly was the rest of the building damaged?

It looks like it took out 3 to 4 units from my perspective.
