Why does Rossman have some explaining to do? He merely referred you to the host based on the knowledge he had so far. I'm sure he has no control over any technical difficulties they run into.

He usually adds something along these lines when he provides hosting information.

Its been down for over two hours, I've been reading the WHT threads 🙁. They've had a ton of positive reviews but I have a feeling those could change to negatives now.

It sucks to see a good hosting company have some issues that could have been avoided.

Edit: Just saw a few of Ross' posts in that thread. Looks like he is thinking about moving away from them.
 
I am hosted by ServInt also, I talked to networking and they said they are working on it and have no ETA... I'm calling again in 2 hours if it still isn't working.

They don't have anything to tell you. You must have missed their post on WHT:

MCI has lost multiple OC-48s and OC-12s in the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. area, and has set it as their highest priority to get them fixed. Entire rings are down in the Northern Virginia area. I would love to provide you with an ETA, but since that is the extent of the update I have received from MCI, I would be giving you a false impression. I do not wish to do this. I am confident, however, that things are getting handled as quickly as possible, and we have faith in the team at MCI.

ServInt did indeed experience minor hardware and router related issues earlier this month. This, however, is completely unrelated. It has been 7 years since the last time something like this, a major fiber problem, has happened on the ServInt network. We are dealing with it as best, and as quickly as possible.

We are going to stick it out with ServInt.net for now. If this continues we'll probably upgrade to a dedicated server but at 5x the cost 🙁
 
The last 6 weeks have been tough...seems like everyone has had some sort of problem. Just goes to show that any data center can go down. How they respond is what seperates the great ones from everyone else.
