Well she probably has contributed more to society than you (and I) have. Her problem is that she's prone to saying outrageous BS that detracts from her contributions.
OK, if you stop quoting me out context to make it look as if I had supported her statement regarding the conspiracy.
You are misinterpreting what I states. I quoted you to expand on what you said. I was saying that yes, people can be wrong, but that in this case her being wrong was not an innocent mistake.
I seriously doubt she has enough influence to make a significant negative impact. Seems a lot of you people give her more credit than she deserves as far as being influential. While she has contributed to society (various charities), he work has also promoted ignorance in this country, which is something that is hard to put a value on. Does making hundreds of thousands of people dumber and more ignorant outweigh her financial contribution? I think so.
Yeah, Yentas are a real political force:roll:Originally posted by: Amused

She has a pretty loyal following. Not as loyal as Oprah, but still significant.

Yeah, burn someone at the stake for questioning how weakly-explained history happened!
Are you kidding me? The 9/11 conspiracy videos have been utterly destroyed point by point. They are complete nonsense.
Why are people not allowed to question spoon-fed government-issued explanations?
Because the conspiracy theories are as ignorant of the clear-cut scientific facts as a Creationist arguing against evolution. It has nothing to do with the Bush administration.
And I suppose you believe everything Bush says?
I didn't hear what Rosie mentioned but to say Bush had absolutely nothing to do with what happened is pure BS. One way or another, he was involved.
This is why I hate politics. Always makes you dirty in one way or another.

Loose Change doesn't count.
The "facts" presented by this administration have terrible evidence supporting them.
I'm sorry you have such a hard time questioning authority, thats a real shame.

It's not really a question about authority though. I could create a video full of nonsensical conclusions and present them as truth, but that doesn't mean you have to open your mind to it for the sake of questioning authority.

Besides how amusing nutjobs like the deniers and Rosie are, there was something recently that was just beyond ironic. A structural engineer stated that if asbestos had not been banned outright during the Trade Center construction, they probably would not have fallen. They coat the girders with fire retardant. The replacement for asbestos sucks compared to asbestos. If they had been allowed to continue using asbestos and coated it with another sealant, it would have prevented the heat from softening the steel. No failure.

Not this again..
I suppose now you're going to link us to "Screw Loose Change" or something, right?
Heh, you say "the 9/11 videos'" like they're all one in the same, do you even KNOW how many "9/11 videos" there are that focus on aspects of 9/11 that HAVEN'T been answered, let alone "virtually destroyed"? Keep posting news articles instead of debating them if you're going to make asinine blanket statements and promote disinformation like that.
"The 9/11 videos" aren't even the best evidence to suggest complicity, so you can "destroy" them all you want with your powerful, unflinching opinions. The proof is in documents, peer reviewed papers, and testimony that "completely destroys" the conspiracy theory YOU believe.
Never liked Rose but she's doing a good thing by bringing this issue up in a public forum, it deserves an explanation after all these years.
Point-by-point.. riiiiight.
