Rosetta runs a short while and then the PC gets a blue screen or sometimes reboots.

1 x Asus M2N4-SLI
AMD 3800+ X@ Dual Core AM2
2 x 512 DR
2 x geforce 7300 in SLI
1 x 320 Seagate SATA
1 x CDRW

I have run all of the Sandra stuff on it with no problems.

I just put it together for a Friend and was going to run rosetta on it for a couple of days to test it.

When rosetta it runs I have 2 tasks running at the same time.

Any suggestions ??

Nope, the bus is at 201 mHZ.

Both cores show up as 2000 mHZ.

EDIT.

CPU has 1.3 core and it runs really cool with the stock fan.

I am going to see if I can monitor the temps before it crashes.

It took 2 tries to install BF1942, it locked up 2 minutes into the game.

Thanks for the help

Hi Guys, thanks for all the replys.

You ever look through a stack of CD's only to find the one you want at the very bottom ??

Well the only thing left to try was the hard drive.

It had a Seagate SATA 320 gig and I replaced it with a 20 gig western digital 7200 rpm IDE drive.

XP PRO loaded great, all the driverd loaded without locking up, rebooting or blue screeening.

It has been running 2 instances of rosetta@home for 4 or 5 hours great.

Sorry for not answering back till now.

I did all this before reading your replys.

I didnt run memtest or write down the bluescreen info.

..............but....next time I have a problem I will remember to try all of the advice you guys suggested.

Now.....any suggestions on the hard drive acting this way ???

Regards and thanks again Guys. :sun:

EDIT:

1 bad stick of ram!!!!

Had the bad stick in mobo when loading SATA hard drive, must of corrupter OS.

Reloaded SATA with only 1 stick of ram and rosetta is crunching along fine.

I am getting old :Q , starting to over look things.
