I've read the forums over there, seems some people are getting the 'program exited in an unusual way', C++ errors, etc. I had a couple WUs abort that way, but since the project came back up the other day, my main box crashes every WU :| I haven't changed anything on this machine lately, and it's running fine otherwise. My other machines are having no issues at all 😕 What could be going on here? I've clocked it back down to stock, although it's crunched at least 400k credits overclocked with no issues.

Really....I'm the only one? 😕 Lucky me 😀

The issue (for me) seems to be limited to the 5.85 beta app, and only on this one machine...and really only since the project came up this last time. I've got some 5.82s now, and they are crunching fine....flushed all the 5.85s. :|

I had some problems when my Q6600 was just starting to get the 5.85s. Had to go back to bios and reset my overclock. Didn't actually change anything but I was failing every 5.85 i was getting, everything has worked fine since then. Still not sure exactly what was causing the problem.

Well, my issue seems to be solved, but I still don't see why 😕

I noticed that I was running a very old version of BOINC, so I updated out of desperation. Seems to be working fine now, no errors at all yet

Crazy, my Opty 165 is running the same old version with no issues. Oh well, it's good to be crunching 100% again 😀

JC, not having the same problem you report but since this looks like this is as good a thread as any to continue the discussion of "Rosetta (BOINC) Problems", here's another one.

I've just installed Vista Ultimate on my new Q6600. BOINC won't automatically startup. I have done a search and it seems to be an ongoing problem with Vista and BOINC. It's a little aggravating to have to manually start Boinc Manager each time you reboot. 🙁

The same machine worked perfectly with XP.

Vista's many new "features" (especially UAC) means various common things doesn't work any longer. As far as BOINC goes, they're hoping on full Vista-support with v6, but there seems to be improvements for each new version...
If not mistaken, WCG and possibly other projecs has had some problems with wu's being trashed then shutdown/re-boot, and it seems v5.10.30 has fixed this problem.

But, as long as you're installed as service, it doesn't really matter if the Manager is running or not...
