If you want to surprise the wife/girlfriend, and don't want to spend a lot, Aldi's had half dozens for $2.99. Got some as a surprise for my wife the other day while I was grocery shopping.. they were very nice, good quality. She was quite happy with them.

Personally, I prefer to give roses as a gift at random times throughout the year, rather than at Valentine's day, when they really don't mean anything.

Wow, with so very few responses, I'm not surprised at the number of YAGT's in OT.

Hint: buy her roses "just because I love you" for no particular occasion.
Better hint: do it when the roses are cheap. The thought is what counts, not the price of the roses.

Never heard of Aldi's. . .
Are they local to you?

Central Market (HEB) has Roses for $8 a dozen pretty much all the time, that's the best I know of around Austin.

Anyone help me find them as cheap as Aldi's in Austin? $3 a dozen would rock. . .

Yep Austin, TX . . . I figured. . . I've seen Save A Lot in Dallas I think? Oh no that was a Sack and Save. . . Evidently OK is the closest store for me. . . HEB it is then!

I used to work at an Aldi's. :)

I'll have to check that special purchase out, that's a good price on the roses.

Very good deal.

Finally stopped by and got a Dozen [(2) 6 packs] for my girlfriend.

At my local Aldi. They were Long Stemmed. The color choices were; Red, Peach, Red/white, Pink, and Off White. They also came with some assorted extra decorative stuff:

Astromerias, Babies Breath, Green fernlike stuff.

Over all an OUTSTANDING Deal. We shall see if they last.

They came with a packet of the powder for longer life too.

Thanks. My girl was very happy.
