Wonder if the whole leak was fabricated to get rid of Rosenstein.

I think Congress could subpoena the information at the worst. There is no way what he knows don't come out somehow.

What Mueller knows may come out but if it is revealed through leaks it no longer is part of a prosecutorial process.

Rudy "FAKE", FOX "FAKE", Republicans "FAKE"

I hope I'm wrong and maybe, maybe, maybe, Rosenstein isn't resigning but offering and someone is politically aware enough to not accept.

Pretty sure Rosenstein understands it looks worse for Trump if he's fired, which makes me wonder if he floated this with Kelly to buy time.

Maybe he's expecting something to happen before the mid-terms, something he wants to stick around for? ;)

The next 5 weeks is going to feel like 5 months, watch...

It would be the smart move at this point in time.
The one thing President Trump should do is a get a Judge to force Dep. Rosenstein to recuse himself from the Mueller investigation since he's a prime witness in the investigation and due to his prior involvement in the case.

We also don't know the full extent of items he has farmed out to other offices like SDNY. Those investigations can't be stopped without, almost literally, burning down the whole DOJ.

Pretty sure Recusal doesn't prevent one from being a Witness. If that's what you are implying.

Normally I have you on ignore but the stupid in your post broke the ignore function. "The police officer should be recused from the case because he witnessed the crime."

So here we go?

No it wasn't, but he can't be the Administration official in charge in the Mueller investigation if he's also a witness in that investigation (FISA warrant) or if he had prior involvement in the case before it was started that might affect his performance. Attorney General Sessions recused himself for less cause.

I think it's unlikely yet possible. I mean it would arguably signal the end of the rule of law in the United States and call into open question our status as a democracy. It would be the most drastic abuse of executive power since the foundation of the republic, they exact kind of thing that impeachment was included in the constitution to remedy.

Sessions had to recuse himself because of his contacts with Russians during the Election. That is related to what the Investigation is about. Rosenstein is not potentially under investigation as Sessions is.

May I introduce you to Mitch McConnell? Unless the Dems can win the Senate, Trump can burn the country to the ground as long as Mitch's money buddies are happy.

To be clear I have no expectation that this congress would act. We're 50 some days from the midterms though so what the next congress would do is an unknown.

There's a good chance that Trump is handing the Senate to the Democrats.

What if the so-called resignation agreements broke down last week because Rosenstein has papers to serve the POTUS?
What if he is going to the WH to serve them, to the Trump clan and/or Trump himself? lol
