I believe they suffer from the disease of gut certainty. Who needs objectively gathered evidence when you already know he’s being framed. They live in a prison cell that has ‘this is not a prison’ written on every bar.

Haha, that much is true. It always amazes me that the 'f-uck your feelings' gang is almost entirely ruled by their feelings and doesn't appear to know it.

Trump has put us on the path to a place where democracy doesn't function as intended and where the law is weaponized to go after political enemies.

Trump is the battering ram that's tearing apart the front gates; the Christian warriors are the ones who are salivating at the chance to impose their will on the majority, and they don't particularly care how it's done.

By the way that Kavanaugh's accusers are being treated gives us a glimpse. A white Christian patriarchy that debases the roles of females, minorities, and the vulnerable among us in society.

The fear driving conservative support for Kavanaugh : Republicans worry that "liberals" are rewriting America's moral code.

Trumpism, at its core, is a rebellion against changes in American society that undermine traditional hierarchies. It’s based on the belief that these changes, rather than promoting fairness for historically oppressed groups, actually promote “political correctness”: the oppression of white, native-born Christian men.

I do feel like the imagined loss of importance is the primary motivating influence behind modern American conservatism. Everyone used to pay attention to them and they're freaking out because that's not as true anymore.
I would only add my usual stick about self hate and the need for external ego identification. Is stick the right word? Seems like it should be Yiddish.

What causes people to be ruled by their feelings is not knowing what they actually feel, in this case, feeling like a victim.

It is kind of amazing to me that conservatives claim to believe Kavanaugh is the victim of a coordinated smear campaign yet adamantly refuse any investigation that could clear his name.

I wonder why that is.

Reality is part of the conspiracy. It keeps conspiring to making good conservative men do these terrible things. They are good men that is being smeared by their actions! Who are you going to believe, the things they do or the things they say? You are all fools. They tell us they are good Christian men that are upholding family values, why would you believe that is false simply because they rape and molest a few people, or get divorced a few times, or sell out their constituency for bribes?

"Good men" like you believed Crystal Mangum before having all the facts of the matter...and don't give a shit about how many lives were ruined. Good men like you.

The real reason for all these ludicrous excuses and conspiracy theories is deep down conservatives don't actually give a shit if these accusations are true or not.

If they gave a shit they would have stopped everything and had it investigated. Instead, they've furiously fought against it at every turn. Because they don't give a single, solitary shit.

This is why I find the three allegations dubious.

Ford - A case of mistaken identity? Two men have recently stepped forward saying they were involved in the incident she alleges, not Kavanaugh. This makes sense to me as I personally find her description of what happened to her to be convincing, but I also find Kavanaugh's unequivocal denial to be convincing as well.

Ramirez - No witnesses, no evidence, and she admits that she was incredibly drunk at the time. She contacted former classmates a few weeks ago and told them she wasn't sure that it was actually Kavanaugh who exposed himself to her. It took her 6 days of talking to a Democratic operative before she was convinced that it was indeed Kavanaugh she "remembered" with 100% certainty.

Swetnick - Known lunatic with an incredibly outlandish allegation. Ex-boyfriend had to seek a restraining order against her and explicitly stated she has no credibility. Zero evidence.

What men? Where? Even that toady Lindsay Graham calls these two individuals "drugged-up loons"

Is that what you are hanging all of this on? You trust their word over hers? Why? Why? "Yes sirs! We did the rape! Please put us in [the American] prison now, because we are such honorable men that this 'great guy Kavanot' is being treated unfairly!'"

The rest is clearly nonsense, because you open your argument with insanity.

lol, of course you find "unequivocal denial" to be convincing. You're an only Trumper. The lies are always better than the truth. Deny, Deny, Deny, lie lie lie and win in life!

What do you believe?
I don't know who to believe. I see several possibilities, one that Kavanaugh is telling the truth or knows he is lying but feels it unimportant because he is certain he is not the same person he was long ago, knows he is lying and is just plain evil and wants to do his dirty work on the court, or is being lied about by women who either excuse their lies based on how much damage he could do on the court to women's rights, or are simply malicious, or are telling the truth as best they remember it. What I also believe is that it matters to the nation that the people who represent the final say in the law of our land are of the highest moral integrity. Kavanaugh's absolute claim of purity in high school as a devoted athlete and student appears to me to be a lie judging by the facts we know about his high school years. There are other examples where he also may not have been telling the truth as far the information I have heard is concerned. All and all, for these reasons I would pass on nominating him. As a conservative I go with better safe than sorry.

PS: He does a facial pose where he purses his lips that I find disquieting as if I had some inner sense of what a face like that on me would mean.

Also there's the likely case that he's a conservative because of all the alcohol related brain damage. Just kidding............naturally. ;)

One other thing. I would prefer someone who had a hard life and made something of themselves rather than somebody born on third base and had everything handed to him regardless of some likely or purported debauchery. Somebody more like you perhaps.

Trump rescheduled his meeting with Rosenstein to next week. He doesn't want it to interfere with the Kavanaugh hearing. Another moronic conspiracy theory bites the dust.

I don't know what to believe either at this point...but I do find Ford to be highly credible (listening now). That said, I do want to see Kavanaugh's response as well and find out more about these two people who have come forward recently.

One other thing. I would prefer someone who had a hard life and made something of themselves rather than somebody born on third base and had everything handed to him regardless of some likely or purported debauchery. Somebody more like you perhaps.
You're too funny, it would only take a few minutes for a shitload of people to see that crucifixion would be too good a fate for someone like me.

Side Note - Someone please tell Spartacus to shut up. Where's that woman from HI when you need her?

Next week I think is a better time so good. I don't know what will happen but tossing a mental fair coin gives me "Likely not fired".

He mentioned this yesterday. I still love that you unequivocally trust Trump and his intent, based on whatever he says, every single time. It is both precious and sad.

Of course, he already knew that the hearing was on Thursday, before he set the meeting...so yeah, moronic conspiracy theory still stands. It's obvious that if he cared about this interference, he wouldn't have scheduled it for the same time.

The reality is that this hearing is not going the way that Trump wants it to, so he decided to move it. Can't deal with two massive shit storms in one day.

I don't unequivocally trust Trump and his intent as you stated above. I see that this is hard for you to understand. But I'm not deranged either...making up shit and then treating it as if it's actual fact.

I disagree. If they didn't give a shit, they would've already rammed his confirmation through. Republicans/conservatives have to make up all these conspiracies and insane excuses because a shitload of them are guilty of this type of behavior as well. And the few of them that aren't, can't deal with knowing how much of a sham their "morality" and other bullshit that they formed their entire lives around, isn't just bullshit but actively enabling all of the things they claim to be against. So their brains create this crazy shit to protect them from having to deal with it. From having to accept what they've done, or to accept that everything they believe is lies and has rotted them down to their souls.

I think that's a major aspect to why people aren't able to understand how insane these conservatives have become. And the worse shit gets, the more they're going to hold to their faith and come up with anything that lets their brains not have to deal with it, so it gets worse and worse, because they're rotten, and until their sham outer projected selves gets shattered, they're gonna keep doing it.

Its why they're trying to tear down all the institutions that will hold them accountable.
