Root app for recording Android system audio?

I see all kinds of call-recording apps and such but nothing designed for simply recording the internal audio from whatever source is generating it. I can't even use the voice recorder because it pauses the audio source.

The Holy Grail for me would be an audio-only DVR (DAR ) which would let me skip back in real time while continuing to capture and redirect the audio stream and only send my position in the buffer to the speaker but I'll settle for a simple live recording app for system audio.

Is there anything like this?

I don't know of any loopback recorders for Android. I'm not entirely sure it's possible without more research.

I looked into this and apparently the sandbox for Android apps prevents it.

xposed mod has a plugin that allows this.

other apps do it to but havent seemed to work since android 4.0 iirc
